Dear IAnDian,

The effect is cumulative. Several factors drive it. Its essence is layered. That's sweet success in its complete sense - creative and economic. So, the next question is - what are these layers? These success-driving factors? Where does one get them? And, how do they impact? That's exactly what our video series "in Candid Conversation with" showcases.

Actions, occurrences, emotions, journeys that trace these influencing factors; reminisces that help introspect, awaken and impact. We have just wrapped up Season 1 of our video series featuring 'super achievers'. Their professional fronts are there for the world to see; but this series has brought them closer to you as they've opened up not just their homes, but their hearts, getting candid about personal details in front of the camera... just for you - the IAnDians.

A big 'thank you' to all our guests, who participated, and our patrons for making this series a big success.

With this issue, we also take a short break and shall be back in a fortnight with new stories, new ideas and lots, lots more. Stay tuned.

Enjoy the issue.

Warm regards,

Dear IAnDian,

We all aspire for the luxury life. We all aspire to visit new places and experience new experiences. The superyacht industry and the glamour that is associated with it took our fancy this week as we were given a tour of the exciting Pearl 95 - the latest and hottest addition to the water-holiday fleet with its interiors done up by none other than the exquisitely flamboyant Kelly Hoppen. Kelly perceives little details in a picturesque way and that's something that contributes to her picture-perfect styling.

Besides the dream boat, we bring you some regular interesting fare with a home refurbishment by Offis Architects in Slovenia; another modest home in Noida by Mixed Folios and a luxury store in Mumbai by Limited Edition Design Studio.

With the onset of a new volume, IndiaArtnDesign enters another new phase bringing you the best of interiors and architecture every day.

Enjoy the read and do dream a little about your personal luxury quotient!

Dear IAnDian,

We are currently enjoying a phase, where technology and its positives have spearheaded us into a futuristic aura that is at once appealing and adaptable. But with its several plusses come the little niggers of a life well spent before the onslaught of all things technology. An era that most of the millennials are not even aware of. The very fact that they are kickass about the remix of an old melody, are intrigued by a traditional and detailed process, or are happy to adopt a tried-and-tested formulaic solution... shows that the new generation needs to be introduced to choice segments of our past, exactly like we would refill a new bottle with aged wine!

Look a little closely at our stories this week - a palatial home that caters to different personalities yet finds its balance via the overall design approach. A small café in Shanghai that uses the juxtaposition of opposites to carve out a niche space for a product (coffee) and an audience! A made-to-measure store that ups the oomph quotient of a bespoke, traditional craft. And our cover story that features a book store cum library cum café cum event space speaks of a cultural hangout that seems the need of the hour to bring the human touch back into the hands-on, jet-setting world!

A little introspection goes a long way! Enjoy the issue.

Dear IAnDian,

This week, we started out to talk about plush residences and evolving lifestyles in this Luxury Homes Special. As we documented the projects, we realised that they were not just plush - in the various connotations of their application - but had a lot to do with communing with nature. While on the one hand, people seem to want the best in terms of a contemporary home; on the other, they also want that connect with nature that our concrete jungles have made increasingly elusive.

So, when we speak of evolved lifestyles - we speak of a more-aware, more sensitive-to-the-times vocabulary that comes from an erudite mindset, wanting and making the most of available resources to make a difference to the environment in their own small way. So, can a plush residence be equated to an evolved lifestyle? Yes, it can; in more ways than one.

We hope you enjoy the projects as much as we did, collating them for you.
