Dear IAnDian,

Architects and designers' shoulder different responsibilities - social, cultural... and above all, extremely personal as they play the role of essential advisors not just for the space they design but the lifestyle changes that the outcome would herald.

Our stories this week feature projects that illustrate such responsibilities on the physical and psychological fronts: the diagnostic imaging clinic in Delhi that propagates cognitive healing; the all-suite hotel in New York that promotes luxurious residential living to soothe travel woes; the Plexiglas visor-like shields that designer Christophe Gernigon has developed to enjoy a social outing whilst maintaining safe social distancing; and our cover story, where adaptive reuse has completely transformed an old home into a progressive office environment with focus on employee engagement and wellbeing. And in our ongoing Special on Nostalgia, Minnie Bhat reminisces about her all-time favourite and challenging project - Tru Tram Trunk!

As we come to terms with our rapidly altering lifestyles, let us mull over our ways of interaction and personal take-aways from everyday situations.

Get introspective. Enjoy the issue...

Warmly,

Dear IAnDian,

As we wrap up our mini web series Dhara with a ten-minute insight and message from veteran architect Jaisim Krishna Rao, we are flooded with requests from different architects and designers to start yet another web series - light-hearted and fun. Well, we are chewing on a few ideas and will keep you posted on this decision. Meanwhile, we hope that you have enjoyed Dhara as much as we have putting it together. Do check out our cover feature with links to all the episodes.

Continuing in our efforts to showcase meaningful design, we bring you homes from Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Ukraine - all the three following minimalist and neutral interiors. Totally recommended - different treatments underlined by similar design thought.

And in the ongoing series on Nostalgia, read about unconventional charm by Group DCA Architects as they revisit an old project in Sainik Farms, Delhi.

Until next week then... Stay safe. Stay inspired.

Warmly,
Savitha Hira
