Hip Sky Lounge by Khosla Associates; Science Museum gets Zaha Hadid design; Kimaya Architects bag 2014 UNESCO Conservation; Atypical motor yacht by Foster+Partners & more

Sensitivity in architectural and design practice helps us common folks experience a wealth of hitherto unknown or lesser known facets in almost every design discipline. Our fare this week touches upon various nuances of this sensitivity: from the diligent and beautiful restoration of the Devi temple at Kinhai - despite it not being a listed heritage site; the world of difference that a simple module of colour brought to the inmates of a day-care nursing centre near Tokyo; modular furniture that dynamically reconfigures a bedroom in Moscow; to students working on an app that can facilitate communication with the deaf and mute… it is indeed humbling what design can do!

Enjoy your read!!
Warmly,
