Design Gurus have left their mark. These stalwarts continue to inspire with their pioneering efforts in thinking out-of-the-box: Francesco Borromini’s manipulation of depth; Mies Van Der Rohe’s ‘less is more’ idiom; Moshe Safdie’s Habitat67 and a whole lot more... leave us feeling that there isn’t much in terms of thinking-design that we have achieved. Yes, taken further from what was, a whole lot further, but not really pioneered! This week, we have collated for you a few projects that reflect these sensibilities and transform a space intriguingly and perhaps even simply. As is said, to effect simplicity takes a whole gamut of experiences! I leave you to enjoy the issue. We offer you a mix of landscape design, hospitality, residential minimalism and contextual and responsible elements of architecture in relation to society. Enjoy your read! Warmly, Savitha Hira Editor |
