Colour in Architecture Award; Tarun Tahiliani interprets fine art-inspired prêt and couture; Concept of Space in Architecture & more

Last week, while we watched models strut down the ramp in fashion designer Tarun Tahiliani’s paintings-inspired attire, the colour quotient was once again reinstated. Colours speak an eloquent language. Colour is a tour de force by itself; whether it stands alone, loftily commanding attention in its tonal strength of dark or light hue; or whether it is combined to define that which it suffuses! That brings us to the Colour in Architecture award for 2014, which went to German architects, Behnisch amd Leinhäupl + Neuber, for their effective harnessing and interpretation of the psychological impact of colour. A great project indeed!

So taking the thematic further, Chirag from our studio picked on the not-so-worn combination of pink and mauve and Voila! He realised that they were the soothers of the soul!! Complementing the serene mood is Ar. Prasanna Parvatikar’s project from Tamil Nadu and the architecture-integrated ‘Havre’ in Montreal by sculptor Linda Covit.

Enjoy the issue and feel enlightened!

Warmly,
