Dear IAnDians,
Art in any form is such an integral part of design. Whether it's the preschool that is designed to facilitate the young ones to create their own art on the walls; or the oft seen neutral interior envelopes that are brought to life with colour via works of art, it simply transforms the ambience, literally breathing pulsating life into the space.
Our cover story about designer Maxime Jacquet's style-infused Hollywood home is a beatific abode in nude shades complemented by a pastel art palette. The sprawling Delhi home by Design Cosmos and the weekend retreat in Indore by Rainbow Designers, are both, at the other end of the spectrum, following the same dictum - neutral interiors vivified with colour - in crafted headboards, colourful paintings, artistic wall and ceiling treatments...
The bottom line is that art is not just for aesthetic appeal, but is therapeutic as well; a fact endorsed by the Healing Gardens in the Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre, Los Angeles, where the landscape architects have chiselled out a remedial environment for patients.
The issue is loaded with take-home insights. We hope you have a great read!
Warmly,
Savitha Hira
