Dear IAnDians,

Architecture is the mother of all arts. There is rhythm in form. There is a palpable experience that a space communicates. That's why we say, this place has good vibes... Such are the spaces that we've brought you this week.

Most recommended and highly sculptural, is the museum of porcelain art in Sanbaopeng, China. You can feel the rhythm, the almost transient touch of the moulding clay... in the walls, the chiaroscuro, the play of lines and curves...

Moving to the other projects, there is the public library, again in China, with its unique undulating bookshelves that constitute its interior envelope. A dynamic statement, unlike the regular notion of a public library!

While these spaces mesmerise you with their poetic structures, designer Shabnam Gupta repurposes quirk with a flourish as she brings warmth and eclectic flair to a home by the sea. As the trending story, this not only shows you how disparate things can be harmoniously matched; but also reinstates that design is personal. Very personal.

Chew on that, until we see you with more inspiring stuff next week.

Warmly,
Savitha Hira
