Dear IAnDian,

There is something about the world of art and design. Look closely and it will show you a glimpse of vulnerability. It may not percolate to the details but, certainly at the macro level, you can sense that little sensitive inkling of perhaps… the desire to conform?! In our stories this week, all are interwoven with an underlying artistic element.

So, you will see Studio Osmosis transform a small space to appear large using simple materials and approach with a touch of whimsy. The same small space concept blends with the whimsical in the single room for two by Studio Ben Allen that ingenuously brings architectural installation and interior design on the same plane.

Whether it is refurbishing a heritage property – the traditional Baserri in Northern Spain, or a luxurious home that exploits the ingenuity of contemporary and traditional artists to create bespoke signature pieces, art is at the heart of design!

Enjoy the issue.

Warmly,
Savitha Hira
